Ok, we are starting to repeat some of our trips but we can't help it!!

The Wrap

We love heading up Route 15 North above Frederick, Maryland as there are so many places to explore, headed towards Pennsylvania. The drive is beautiful. It was a cloudy day so we decided to head back to Emmitsburg Antique Mall. We love this place! We always find small items to purchase and it's fun to explore old things. Peter picked up some interesting, bright orange ceramic ash trays that can be used to serve nuts at a party. I picked up some old peanut butter glasses (yes, peanut butter used to be packaged in real glass!) that can be used for juice.

Heading back, we stopped off at Catoctin Breeze Vineyards. It's a great place for a picnic. The pictures don't really do it justice. The grounds are beautiful! We were ready to order Bolero's Blend which is what we drank the last time we were here but they stopped making it. They change out their wines on a quarterly basis so we hope they bring it back! Food trucks are always on-site if you want to stop by for lunch or an early dinner. It's a great place to sit outside and relax!

About Us

Peter and Emily are both native Washingtonians, both having grown up in Bethesda, Maryland. Crazily enough, they met online during the 2020 pandemic and have been inseparable ever since. What started out as a "date" day trip within a couple of weeks of meeting each other, turned into something so much more. The two decided they were having so much fun, they did another day trip the next weekend. And soon they realized it was a great escape from the work week to go explore places within a couple of hours from D.C. It also was a great way to do something outdoors and maintain space during the Covid-19 craziness. What's not to love about being outdoors, getting fresh air and catching the trade winds in your sails... exploring... dreaming... discovering...
