Similar to the hike at Ball's Bluff, this is an easy hike through woods with views of the Potomac River.
Take One-Peter
This was pretty similar to the hike at Ball's Bluff. It's pretty much wooded terrain throughout and then once you descend down the trails to the water level of the Potomac River, it opens up to a wider space. An easy hike/walk for those with dogs.
Take Two-Emily
We chose this place because it was supposed to be an out-of-the-way place to hike. It actually was pretty crowded which surprised us. We talked to the owner whose house sits next to the parking lot, and he said before the pandemic it was a quiet place but with everyone needing to get out and do things while social distancing, it's become a pretty popular spot!
Eat, Drink & Be Merry
We decided to go back to Bleu Frog Winery and visit it for the 2nd time. It was still as nice as the first time we visited in the fall of 2020. Owners Joe and Jan have created a vineyard with a laid-back vibe which we love! Hopefully it will stay this way. We purchased a wine flight so we could try out their wines again and then bought a bottle of the Blue Blanc to take home. It is very kid-friendly and dog-friendly which we also like. Would highly recommend this vineyard!
The Wrap
Since Red Rock and Bull's Run are pretty similar in terrain and overall looks, we preferred Bull's Run over this one because there is more history there and therefore, a bit more interesting. But certainly a good place for a quick hike if you live nearby.
Bleu Frog Vineyards sits right on Route 15. We hope it doesn't become too popular because right now we feel it's a little-known gem!!
Boomer loves going to vineyards and watching all of the activity.
