Another great local nursery to venture out to.

Take One-Peter

I love plants and having a garden in my backyard, so this was a great place to stop by and check out the plants.

Take Two-Emily

They had a lot to choose from and all of the plants were healthy and moderately-priced. A good place to go for a Saturday out, if you need some plants for your garden or patios.

Eat, Drink & Be Merry

We were driving home and saw a place called Lone Oak Brewing Company so we decided to stop by and check it out.

It had a nice vibe although a little bit crowded. Parking was tight. This place is similar in feel to Vanish Brewery in Leesburg. You either like these kinds of places or you don't. (the large, crowded kind with live music and a somewhat younger crowd) We had to stand in line for drinks and the wait time for food was pretty long. We didn't have our charcuterie board with us as we hadn't planned on going anywhere after our nursey purchases. We have found with all of these wineries and breweries we go to, it's always a good idea to bring your own food and water because you never know if these places will have much to offer in the way of food. (and pizza gets old real fast which is what most of the breweries offer). All in all, though, it was a nice place to stop by for a beer and hear some live music. Check out the gorgeous tree on the property that is spectacular! Emily was obsessed with it.

The Wrap

If you have just a couple of hours and want to get out of the suburbs, head out to Stadler's. We find just getting out to a nursery, walking around and looking at plants makes you feel good!

This is the most amazing, old tree on the property of Lone Oak!

About Us

Peter and Emily are both native Washingtonians, both having grown up in Bethesda, Maryland. Crazily enough, they met online during the 2020 pandemic and have been inseparable ever since. What started out as a "date" day trip within a couple of weeks of meeting each other, turned into something so much more. The two decided they were having so much fun, they did another day trip the next weekend. And soon they realized it was a great escape from the work week to go explore places within a couple of hours from D.C. It also was a great way to do something outdoors and maintain space during the Covid-19 craziness. What's not to love about being outdoors, getting fresh air and catching the trade winds in your sails... exploring... dreaming... discovering...
