This nursery is perfect for an afternoon drive and is filled with great plants for the garden.

Take One-Peter

Great nursery with a ton of different plants to choose from. Prices are reasonable and all of the plants are grown by this family-owned/operated business. We love supporting small businesses!!

Take Two-Emily

The country drive out to Thanksgiving Farms from Montgomery County is beautiful. This is a great afternoon destination as it's less than an hour from Rockville where we live. For me, half of the fun is the drive itself, just to get out and smell fresh grass and be out of suburbia. :)

Eat, Drink & Be Merry

Mad Science Brewing Company is on-site. So after you pick out all of your plants, stop by for a beer, too! There is usually a food truck on-site as well. The farm has added a bunch of outdoor seating so there's plenty of places to sit. There used to be music on the weekends but due to the pandemic, we're not sure if that will begin again or not.

The Wrap

If you're a gardener, you will love this place. If you're not a gardener, you will still love this place! It's a fun drive out to the farm and it's fun just to walk around and see all of the different plants. They also have a CSA program that you can sign up for. Pickups for the weekly food are Friday-Sunday.

About Us

Peter and Emily are both native Washingtonians, both having grown up in Bethesda, Maryland. Crazily enough, they met online during the 2020 pandemic and have been inseparable ever since. What started out as a "date" day trip within a couple of weeks of meeting each other, turned into something so much more. The two decided they were having so much fun, they did another day trip the next weekend. And soon they realized it was a great escape from the work week to go explore places within a couple of hours from D.C. It also was a great way to do something outdoors and maintain space during the Covid-19 craziness. What's not to love about being outdoors, getting fresh air and catching the trade winds in your sails... exploring... dreaming... discovering...
